Hire Conditions

Drivers License

All drivers must be 21 years or older and able to produce a valid NZ or international license. We also accept US, Australian, Canadian, United Kingdom and European licenses.

Rental Duration

24 hours from time of pick up. Additional hours are costed at 20% of the daily rate up to five hours and a full day thereafter. Payment is to be made at commencement of hire by either cash, travelers' cheques or credit card. Peak hire is November through April inclusive.

Taxes

All prices include Goods and Services Tax (GST). Current rate is 12.5%

Insurance

Standard Insurance included in the daily rate has a $1500NZ plus GST excess. For drivers over 25 years of age.

There are several insurance upgrades available if required.

1/ Glass cover for windscreen, lights and mirrors... Cost is $5NZ per day.

2/ (Silver Cover) Reduce excess to $500NZ plus GST by paying an extra $10NZ per day.

3/ (Gold Cover) Reduce excess to nil and have Glass Cover for an extra $15NZ per day.

For those 21-25 years standard excess is $2500NZ plus GST. This can be reduced to $1500NZ plus GST by paying an extra $10NZ per day.

Bond

The insurance deductible / excess is required as a deposit when hiring a vehicle, this is payable by credit card imprint, travellers cheques or cash.

Early Returns

Returning a hired vehicle early incurs a penalty of 2 days hire. The daily rate on any discounted or special hirer may be recalculated.

Child and Baby Seats

Child seats are now compulsory on New Zealand roads for children under 5. These may be hired from us at NZ$2 per day, but please order at the time of reservation stating age of child so the correct size may be booked.

Cancellation

Refund of deposit will be given if reservation cancelled up to 20 days in advance. If cancelled 7-19 days prior then forfeit 25% gross rental. If cancelled 1-6 days prior then forfeit 50% gross rental. If cancelled on day of pickup or no show then forfeit 100% gross rental

Additional Drivers

Upto 3 additional drivers may be added at no additional cost.

Fuel

Cars are supplied full of fuel and must be returned full of fuel. $10 charge in addition to fuel costs applies if not returned full.
